Remember how parched it was this past summer? Now's a good time to prepare our gardens for the dry times!
Water-Wise Gardening. Learn about water conservation practices (rain barrels, using natives for landscaping, rain gardens) and best techniques for using the rain we've captured (testing your sprinkler with a rain gauge, building soil with compost, mulching, hand-watering). Instructors for this workshop are Maribeth Crandell, Environmental Educator for Oak Harbor, and Master Gardener Jane Billinghurst. Free to the public.
Saturday, November 14, 10 a.m. to Noon at the Anacortes Public Library. (360) 293-1910, ext. 21
