Kulshan Butterfly Garden

Join us at the Kulshan Creek Community Butterfly Garden on Thursday, August 26 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. to celebrate our community as a “Certified Wildlife Habitat Community" from the National Wildlife Federation.

The National Wildlife Federation will designate Skagit Valley as a certified “Community Wildlife Habitat,” the 10th community in Washington and the 45th in the nation to receive this honor! Skagit PUD's facilities on Freeway Drive were certified as part of this project.

The butterfly garden was temporarily displaced last year during Phase I construction of the Judy Reservoir to Mount Vernon pipeline project.

The demonstration butterfly garden is designed to provide valuable habitat for butterflies, birds, and bees, to create a sense of community, raise public awareness, provide an outdoor learning experience for the neighborhood children, and to beautify the environment.

The garden is located on the walking trail on the corner of 26th Street and Kulshan in Mount Vernon.
