It's critical for Skagit PUD to have a clear vision of where it wants to be and a commitment to how it intends to get there.

The PUD’s 2023 – 2027 Strategic Plan guides the decisions that define our organization and services by establishing our strategic objectives in three main areas:

I. Water Service

• Make data-informed investments that ensure a sustainable and resilient water system.
• Be a steward of water resources.
• Connect critical assets with secure high-speed communications to support infrastructure management.

 II. Communication with Community Members and Partners

• Strengthen communications and engagement with customers.
• Seek opportunities to engage in water-related education.
• Ensure policy-setting and decision-making processes are transparent and easily accessible.
• Maintain a commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
• Strengthen relationships with partners and stakeholders.

III. Organizational Development

• Increase alignment across the organization through a “One Skagit” approach.
• Attract, retain, and develop a high-quality workforce.
• Grow regional- and industry-leading system resiliency and emergency preparedness.

Water system planning, aging infrastructure, increasing rates, strong communications, and hiring and retaining a high quality workforce are many of the complex issues we will address during this planning horizon.
